In a league filled with elite point guard play and an overabundance of big men, NBA scouts are scanning the globe for big wings and combo forwards. Many teams are pivoting from the more traditional stretch-4s to wings and combo-forward types, asking 6-foot-6 to 6-foot-8 perimeter players to slide up to the small-ball power forward spot in hopes of a boost in offensive and defensive versatility.
It isn't easy to find NBA-caliber wings or forwards in that mold.
With that in mind, here's a breakdown of five players whom we have yet to profile and who don't play for Kentucky, Duke, Michigan State or other top-flight programs but have a chance to make an impact at the NBA level in time. These are all players I have scouted live during the first 10 or so games of the collegiate season.
