The England international crashed into a series of advertising boards at Turf Moor, before being stretchered off
Jurgen Klopp confirmed Joe Gomez is facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines after suffering an ankle injury at Burnley.
The Liverpool defender was withdrawn after 23 minutes during the clash at Turf Moor, which the Reds went on to comeback and win 3-1.
However, the injury to Gomez was areal sour note on the night, as the 21-year-old careered into the advertising hoardings and was subsequently stretchered off.
And Klopp was in sombre mood when discussing the possbiility of losing his versatile starlet for an extended period of time.
“It was his ankle,” the manager said at his post-match press conference.
“Joe is injured and probably not only a little bit. We have to see, we don’t know in the moment. We sent him home.”
