Most goals by a Liverpool player in a single season
Salah's two against Roma lifted him to 43 goals for the season, just four shy of Ian Rush's all-time club record of 47 set during the 1983/84 campaign (which ended with a European Cup final win against Roma). The winger has at least four more games to surpass the Welshman's tally – five if Liverpool reach the UEFA Champions League final.
Most goals in a Premier League season
Salah got his 31st league goal of 2017/18 on Saturday against West Brom, equalling the 38-game season record held jointly by Alan Shearer (Blackburn Rovers, 1995/96), Cristiano Ronaldo (Manchester United, 2007/08) and Luis Suárez (Liverpool, 2013/14) with three matches to spare. The all-time record of 34 – set during 42-game seasons – is held jointly by Andrew Cole (Manchester United 1993/94) and Shearer (Blackburn Rovers, 1994/95).
Most Liverpool goals in a European campaign
With 11 so far (including qualifying), Salah and Roberto Firmino have surpassed the previous club high of nine set by Dean Saunders during the 1991/92 UEFA Cup campaign. Salah is also the only Liverpool player other than Steven Gerrard (in 2007/08) to have scored in five consecutive Champions League starts.
Most games scored in during a Liverpool season
Salah has scored in 33 games this term, eclipsing Rush's record of 31 from 1983/84. Before this season, Ronaldo and Robin van Persie shared the record for the most games scored in during a Premier League campaign (21). Salah has registered in 23 league matches so far in 2017/18.
Most goals in a single season by an African player
The Egypt star broke Samuel Eto'o's record of eight Champions League goals in a season (Inter Milan, 2010/11) against Manchester City in the previous round. Salah is also the first African to score 30 Premier League goals in a single campaign; he surpassed the continental record of 29 set by Chelsea's Didier Drogba in 2009/10 with a finish against Bournemouth on 14 April.
Most Premier League Player of the Month awards in a season
Salah is the first player to win the Premier League's Player of the Month award three times in the same season. The newly crowned Professional Footballer's Association Player of the Year scored six league goals last month to win the March award, adding to triumphs in November and February.
Most left-footed goals in a Premier League season
Twenty-four of Salah's 31 league goals this term have come with his left foot. The record was previously held by former Liverpool striker Robbie Fowler, who scored 19 left-footed goals during the 1994/95 Premier League campaign.
